Writing lyrics is a lot of work, because inspiration doesn’t come easy.  I can’t choose what I’m writing about; I have to let life dictate that.  I have to embrace myself at my deepest and often my darkest.  I have to let my words be a vehicle for the things that are crying out inside of me, my struggles and triumphs, my worries and joys, my fears and my faith.  That’s a lot harder than it sounds, but my gut tells me that’s the most authentic way for me to write and the best way to connect with others.  Deep inside, we all go through these things, and my hope is that our music can provide catharsis or at least be an empathetic voice.  We want to be about honesty, love, and beauty, and I hope those things are evident in our music and lyrics.

So please forgive me for taking my sweet time.  We’ll be finished with this album soon!
