text 19 Jun Christian Music? Food for thought…

We were called a “Christian Band” in a recent article, and it got me thinking a little. I suppose it is a fair title for us. We are Christians, therefore, we do all things for God’s glory. Every activity, every word spoken, every relationship, should be one in honor of Christ. But I was thinking about that title “Christian band”. There is a whole music industry built on Christian Music. We have never been trying to just be a part of that industry. We want to play our music for anyone who will listen. Yes, the lyrics are about God. Our lives are about God. We can’t help writing about it. I’m sure our music inspires some, and I’m sure there are others that it doesn’t. But we don’t want to limit our to audience to just Christians. It’s music. The lyrical focus is different, but can’t we say that about every single “kind” of band out there? I’m not just trying to say, “Hey, we’re not a Christian band… just Christians in a band!” I mean, as Christians, Christ should be at the center of everything in our lives. I’m asking more… what does it mean to be “Christians in a band”? What does it mean to be Christians in any occupation or community?

Thanks for reading!
